Scott is a Blount County native who played high school basketball at Heritage High School. After high school, he continued his basketball career at Walters State Community College where he was a 2 year starter for the Senators and received all conference recognition. Scott completed his collegiate career playing for the Marshall University Thundering Herd. At Marshall he was a two year letterman and ranks 4th on the school’s career three point percentage list.
Scott has coached several boys’ teams at area schools over the years. He was an assistant coach at both Farragut and Heritage High Schools before becoming head coach at Heritage High. After an 11 year career in real estate, he returned to coaching in 2013. Presently, he is the coach at Heritage Middle School where he has guided the team for the past four seasons. In 2014, his team won the Area 3 championship and in 2014 and 2016 his team advanced to the Final Four of the East Tennessee State Sectional Tournament.
Scott and his wife, Connie, live in Maryville. They have four children. Scott is a business teacher at Heritage High School where he also serves as the golf coach.
